This project worked with Llandough University Hospital. We collaborated with a Ward from the Hospital through mail art, which I then produced this final piece from, along with an activity sheet for the patients to have a go at, which I have included below. I created this art piece by weaving wool through a loom that I had made, which was referenced from images that I had taken in wales. Corresponding through mail art with ward showed their great interest in nature. I used this theme from the patient’s artwork to inspire this piece. Weaving was not something I had done properly before however after doing a session on weaving with a person I care for at work as a carer, I was encouraged to use this technique. This worked well as I was able to use wool, which is a familiar material for the patients on the ward who like to knit.
